Each Title I school shall jointly develop with parents and family members of participating children, a written plan that shall describe how the school will carry out the requirements mentioned below. Parents shall be notified of the plan in an understandable and uniform format and, to the extent practical, provided in a language the parents can understand. The school plan must be made available to the local community and updated and agreed on by parents periodically to meet the changing needs of parents and the school.
School’s vision for engaging families: We believe that education of our children must be a partnership between the home and school, with an ongoing exchange of information. By agreeing on goals and strategies and by sharing the rights and responsibilities of the educational process, we will together create a learning environment where all children succeed.

Administration surveyed our parents and families via school website, Class Dojo, and school Facebook page. We received 21 responses back. The 2020-21 PFEP has been displayed on our school’s website.

Elementary schools are required to hold at least one face to face conference with parents. Explain your process?
Grade level teams will offer and set up in-person conferences, Zoom conferences, and phone conferences each quarter. We also conducted a Parent Conference Night in the evening for our parents who work in the day time.

Kindergarten Camp Incoming kindergarten students will have an introduction to kindergarten. They will also learn about bus safety and ride a school bus. We have several staff members on campus that speak a second language and we ensure that there is at least one person available to attend each event. In addition, our district has an interpretation service that they can provide for schools as needed.

Transportation, childcare, and work schedules can impact parent attendance. We are going to offer some of our parent nights both in the day and in the evening to accommodate our families. Childcare will also be provided.

We will offer our parent events during the school day and after work hours. For example, we are going to conduct an evening Parent Conference Night.

We have parents that are legally blind and will make sure that the information to them is in a format that they can access. For example, we will email information to the parent, and they will be able to access the information through a translation program.
